"Stormie" was the answer to my wish of having a Longhaired GSD, like the one I had growing up as a kid. I remember when I first met the King Shepherd breeders of long ago, almost 11yrs ago. I went to an ARBA show for the first time, I remember the exact spot of where they were set up. I fell in love with some photos of the sire of an upcoming litter he looked just like the dog I grew up with. Later that day I went home and discussed with my husband the possibility of getting a puppy. It was our tenth anniversary and we had been thinking of taking a cruise, so he left the decision up to me. Can you believe it, I chose the puppy. Anyway, I was encouraged to show him by the then breeders, which to be honest I didn't need much. I took handling classes, obedience classes, any class I could I was hooked. My first show was when Storm was about 9 months old, he didn't win. That was ok with me, he even then didn't have a great chest or rear, though his grooming was impeccable, but we kept going show after show. We even drove to Georgia to attend an ARBA show with a Beauceron owner friend. He actually won (no other Kings), but did win a group 4 out of 5 and the judge really loved him. I have a photo of the judge and myself with Storm, which I also sent later to the judge and in return mail, I received a wonderful letter of thanks. Storm was approaching 18 month and it was time for PENN hip, well, it went well until I received the results, confirmed HD, needless to say the results were not good, one hip effected worse than the other. He was neutered. Since that time he was walked daily and was in pretty good shape, but as he's gotten older and less active his endurance has decreased, except when the Chihuahua comes out behind our house, he still flies at the fence and tries to eat him. Who can blame him? Storm lives a life of leisure hanging out in the back yard, sleeping in the middle of the kitchen while people walk over him. Storm has always had the gift of gab and when people met him they are treating to wonderful version of his stories, the more excited he gets the louder he is. He has a great temperament and loves attention. I have no regrets of skipping that cruise, and when the time comes for him to travel to the rainbow bridge, he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, plus leaving a huge void in my home and heart.

Argus is an 18 mo old, highly intelligent King Shepherd. He loves to work and is willing to please (most of the time). Among his best talents is tracking. Ever since he was 6 mo old he has been learning to track human scent and indicate articles on the track. He excels at this particular phase. His obedience, agility and protection work are in their training phase and I expect him to do well. He shows every aptitude to obtain a Schutzhund title. Among his "notorious" skills...escape artist. He can open any door in the house unless it's deadbolted-not a skill I'd promote....lol. Hopefully Argus will become the first in a line of King Shepherds to obtain the demanding working title of "Schutzhund dog."

Ok My name is Dawn aka Morningstar ,and I own a beautiful female King Shepherd {though my niece says she's a Queen}. Her name is Luna and probably should be called dribbles as she carries water around the house in her mouth. She is nearly four years old and weighs in at 102 lbs. And I would like you to know how I truly feel about my dog;
Anyone can go out and buy a dog,but not everyone can be loved by that same dog. My dog is not just a companion ,she is the love of a daughter ,the devotion of a mother. She is the angel that protects my home and those I love and hold dear. She walks beside me with serenity and grace and with the dignity of a Queen, yet at night runs to fight over who gets the pillow end of my bed. She plays with her cat as gently as having a baby at hand. She knows how to make a frown turn around with just a dribbly muzzle kiss and with vocals only I can enjoy and understand. She is my best friend, my child and the very reason for ever believing in love itself. She is the best of reason to improve a breed,she holds her family in her heart, and cares for them with great pride. I truly am honored to be loved by such a wonderfull creature. She is indeed what I believe the King Shepherd should be.
Lil' Red came to live with us at three months of age and even at such a young age she showed so much potential. She was big, nicely coated, and had the bone and nice squareness in her front and rear of her body as well as a nice square head and muzzle.
A dear friend of ours actually purchased Lil' Red for us as when she went to get her male she couldn't forget about Lil' Red and that is how she came to us. Lil' Red's registered name is Friendship's Carmen Lady of Amy's Acres in honor of our dear friend whom brought Lil' Red into our lives and has and will be a great asset to our breeding program.
Lil' Red attended her first dog show at 10 months of age. We attended a show on the East Coast with the Rarities circuit, November 2005. She did well for her first show, and continued on to other shows where she has always placed well and we are very proud of her as she earned her American, Canadian, and International Championship Title by the age of 14 months. She has defeated several International Titled Champions and we hope to get her back on the show circuit in 2008 to work toward her Grand Champion Title as passing her CGC will be a breeze as she has the most laid back, trusting personality, and is very obedient and loyal and can be trusted with anything from young children to small animals, she is a all around great girl. She is also certified in obedience.
Lil' Red produced her first litter with Guardian Kings Ranger. She had a male and a female pup, both of which are very big, long coats with very even temperaments. If all turns out well, we plan to repeat this same paired breeding sometime in 2008.
In the end, Lil' Red is a very devoted, loving, family pet whom always has the sweetest temperament and is always wanting to please, she comes from a long line of titled champions with very strong, proven linage and a dog to be proud of, we just love her!

Freyia write up submitted by Margaret Campbell
I first met Freiya when I answered an ad about puppies that were like German Shepherds but larger and had long hair and were being bred for good hips. Then I found that the breeders were close enough to visit and see the mother before buying a puppy. In fact, the puppies wouldn’t even be born for another 6 weeks. So we went and met Freiya. What a beautiful girl and quite large but not overweight. I think that Freiya was the first dog that I had ever met that being a stranger in her house did not bother her - she just laid down and enjoyed being petted.
Freiya was a lot bigger then the male German Shepherd I had at that time. I remember a judge one time at a show when Freiya and Shiva (Freiya’s daughter that I owned) were in the ring together and since Freiya was so much larger then Shiva the judge thought that Freiya was a male. She was that large.
Freiya was well socialized and enjoyed having other dogs around. Neighboring dogs visited with her often and most of her male pups were often visitors to her house. She was also a social butterfly with people and attracted lots of attention wherever she went.
One thing that Freiya did that was unusual was to me at the time was to eat raw veggies. She would eat carrots and broccoli but still wasn’t above helping herself to other goodies from the table.
Freyia was technically a Shiloh Shepherd but was originally registered as King Shepherd. She earned her Champanioship for both breeds and also delivered two litters of puppies. One registered as King and one as Shilohs. Sadly Freyia passed away this past August and will be greatly missed by many.
