The first litter of Kings gave birth to our son, Lance. His conformation was proven by his championships in ARBA, CKC, and AKSC. Lance's gentle demeanor was shown by his CGC, TDI and LDTD titles. He was our gentle giant and enjoyed running for the frisbee and romping with our other Kings. Lance's dependability and great strength were exemplified by his continued devotion to his family and to his therapy dog work. Let it suffice to say that we were privileged to have our son for a wonderful 10+ years of which Lance gave us his unconditional love and we miss Lancey Boy immensely. Lance is on the Rainbow Bridge waiting for us as of July 15, 2007.
Nick Names: Lance, Lancey Boy and most of all "Son"

Sampson is a special, wonderful companion. He is smart, loyal, handsome, and well mannered. My husband says Sampson is the dog he should have had at 12 years old!
Samp has gone through a lot of obedience classes from Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Manners, several Obedience I & II, and finally, 16 weeks of Therapy Dog training and passed his Therapy Dog International
(TDI) test in Nov, 2006. January, 2007 we started going to the local nursing home and Regions Hospital, each one night a week. Sampson is well received by all. In fact, the nursing home had an opportunity to get a resident dog and they voted no stating "we have Sampson". You can hear this echo down the halls on Friday afternoons - "Sampson is here, Sampson is here?. He has his favorite rooms and residents but visits with everyone who wants him. At the hospital, the nurses all know him and have treats tucked away for him. He is a head turner!!
The highlight of visiting for Sampson is when kids are present. He lights up like a Christmas tree, never takes his eyes off them, and responds warmly to the little guys from teens down to babies. Even though he is a large dog, he does not seem to intimidate the kids. They all want to interact with him and he with them. It is hard to describe the feeling we get from doing this service - heartwarming doesn't quite fit but is close.
My name is Anita, my husband Ed and I have a beautiful female King Shepherd “Excalibur’s Bailey Miracle” born 12 Sept. 2006. Sired by Champion Excalibur’s Loganberry Whine out of Grand Monarch & Champion Chateau De Chief’s Xena Warrior Princess…..Whew! In a nutshell, Bailey is a wonderful animal, smart, sweet, eager to please and loves her family. She has been a joy to have. Bailey came to us soon after the loss of my beloved Golden “Forrest” passed on; she truly helped us through our grief.
Bailey is a running machine; she lives to chase and catch her Frisbee, and while out of doors has it with her at all times! Indoors, she has such nice manners, was a breeze to house break and still likes to sleep inside her crate. We’re removed the door so she can come and go as she pleases.
Her one weakness is that she just cannot resist chasing our cat! We have gone through the “no, Bailey naughty girl” routine 100 times but she has something in her that just won’t let her turn off that chase instinct. Bailey is also a bit of a water dog. Loves the lake and as soon as I can find a lifejacket to fit her weight I will be taking her sailing with me.
Hunter started his time in the Confirmation ring at the age of 4 month in Allentown PA which was the last show for the year 2005 for the Rarities and NAKC, where he won multiple Best Puppy in Shows and has continued ever since. Then he was entered in the 2006 Rarities and NKAC in all the local shows, where he was shown on Saturday's only. By April of 2006, Hunter had earned his North American and International Championship at the age of 8.5 months. Hunter continued to win on a consistent basis and by the end of the 2006 Hunter was the Top King Shepherd in the Rarities and NAKC. During the 2007 season Hunter was shown in both the Rarities and NAKC and the ARBA (Only 5 total shows across two seasons in ARBA), during that time Hunter has consistently won numerous times, including BIS and RBIS and has achieved a Rarities Grand Championship and Supreme Grand Championship. In ARBA Hunter has earned his Championship and his Master Championship in the same show which was his only ARBA show this year. During 2007 Hunter also achieved his CGC certification from the AKC. Hunter is well position this year to achieve Top King Shepherd in the Rarities and NAKC for the year 2007 and has a very good chance to finish the current year in the Top 10 dogs overall for 2007 (he is currently in the top 10 with only two shows remaining this year).
Hunters Titles are as follows: BIS, RBIS, BISS, BIS Jr. Puppy, BIS Puppy, KSCI and AKSC Champion, Rarities and NKAC Supreme Grand Champion, ARBA Master Champion, CGC and top King Shepherd for the Rarities and NAKC for the years 2006 and 2007.
Hunter Loves being in the ring and he looks to shows as being a special time with us and loves to show off. At home he is a loving pet with his two girls Heidi (a 4 year old Great Pyrenees) and Heather (8 month old King). He loves to play ball and to be my constant companion and friend while being the "father figure" for the girls (if they let him, as Heidi really runs the roost).
Sorry - no dog for this group this month.
